Every IAMBIC pair begins with a 3D scan that maps over twenty biometric points per foot. Our Fit Engine turns this data into a millimeter-accurate digital last, then European artisans craft each pair from full-grain Italian leather for balance, comfort, and all-day performance.
Recognized as a TIME Best Invention of the Year and backed by the U.S. National Science Foundation. Designed in New York City, crafted in Portugal.

Final Reflections with Ray Chang
How did the MODEL T hold up from start to finish?
The MODEL T lasted through everything I put it through from airports to Motor Valley’s streets. It carried me from Boston to Modena and through every day of the tour. My feet felt amazing the entire time. What was also fun was explaining to people that the green tread pattern mimics the wear bar of a Ferrari or Lamborghini tire. People thought that was really cool. It looked great, performed perfectly, and it was amazing to have them with me the entire trip.
Were there moments near the end when you appreciated them even more?
Absolutely. As a sneakerhead, I have a ritual at the end of each day. I slide my pine shoe trees into my IAMBICs. It’s my way of signaling a well-earned rest. In the morning, I take them out, smell the pine, and they feel brand new again. That first step out the door always feels sharp. I felt confident walking through Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Pagani, looking as polished as I could. Even had people checking out my outfit and thinking, yeah, he’s got it together. That felt good.
“I walked more than 100,000 steps through Italy, and the MODEL T kept me comfortable and confident the entire way.”
— Ray Chang
What lasting difference did the MODEL T make in your comfort and focus each day?
The comfort gave me confidence. On tour, I’m walking all day, sometimes 20,000 steps or more, and I was ready for it because of my IAMBICs. I’d get back at 11 p.m. and still feel good. They kept my posture right, my feet balanced, and my body ready to go again the next day. I even joked that I probably walked around 100,000 steps in three days, rewarded each night with gelato to walk off.

How did IAMBIC’s technology prove itself over time?
The technology was flawless. At first, the fit felt tight, but it loosened just enough to contour perfectly to my feet without losing shape. The leather and sole adjusted naturally. I realized I didn’t have to think about my shoes, they just worked. It felt like the shoe was adapting to me in real time. Each morning, they felt ready for another full day.
What do you expect from footwear now?
After this trip, my expectations changed completely. I want footwear I can customize for my purpose. I walked 100,000 steps in three days, and the MODEL T made that possible. I used to rotate through three pairs of sneakers and different inserts to stay comfortable. Now, I just need one pair. It saves luggage space and it looks better too. I don’t think I’ll find this craftsmanship anywhere else. IAMBIC set the new standard for what I expect from my shoes.
What specific moments from the trip stood out most?
The moments that stood out most were about food and performance. Watching people try prosciutto di Parma or tortellini for the first time is amazing: the precision of how everything is prepared in Italy. Then there’s the driving. One millimeter of steering or throttle makes a difference in a Ferrari or Lamborghini. That same millimeter-level precision is what I feel in my IAMBICs. Italy is all about precision, food, cars, and craftsmanship, and my shoes fit right into that world.
What new perspective did this trip give you on precision and design?
The Pagani atelier blew my mind. They only make about 50 cars a year, and every detail, down to the bolts, carries the Pagani logo. It reminded me of how my IAMBICs were made, every element designed for me. It’s not a factory, it’s an atelier. That level of craftsmanship inspired me. It made me realize how much thought and care can go into creating something truly personal.
What do you hope people take away from your experience with IAMBIC?
I hope people see what IAMBIC is doing for healthier feet. I grew up as a basketball player, and doctors used to tell me to get $500 orthotics. IAMBIC shoes do that and more. They’re medicine for your feet, but they look sharp too. They keep your back, knees, and posture aligned. You can’t beat a company that cares about your health and your style at the same time.
“I look at them as medicine for my feet. They look cool, they feel good, and they keep me performing at my best.”

How has this collaboration influenced your work at Motorsport Lab?
This partnership helped me think bigger. While filming in Italy, people literally stopped to watch us shoot. We were having fun: dancing at the Lamborghini Museum, capturing moments at the Ferrari Museum. That energy inspired me to bring more creativity to my tours. It’s about blending fun, precision, and endurance into every experience.

Where do you see Motorsport Lab going next?
We’re expanding both in the U.S. and abroad. Domestically, we’re growing our tours from Boston to New York, Hudson Valley, Newport, and Montreal. Internationally, I’m launching ice-driving experiences in Austria, Finland, and Sweden where we’ll carve racetracks out of frozen lakes and drive Ferraris, Corvettes, and Mustangs on ice. It’s the next level of precision driving. I’m also looking to bring on new talent who share our love for performance, travel, and innovation.
Where are you taking your MODEL Ts next?
I’m headed to North Carolina for a sports conference, then to Miami for Art Basel. I’ll definitely be wearing the MODEL Ts. They’re part of my travel kit now.
When you think about legacy, what do you want this journey with IAMBIC to represent?
I want this trip to be the first step toward a bigger legacy. I hope more people embrace healthy feet, wear IAMBICs, and make them part of their travel essentials. I’ve tried them, I love them, and I recommend them to everyone. I want others to come with me, to Ferrari, Lamborghini, and beyond, so we can all build our legacies together, one step at a time.

The most interesting thing about them being crafted just for me is how well they fit. And I hadnever even noticed that my shoes didn't fit right. My other shoes don't hurt me - they just slosharound. With these, the heels actually stay on the whole time and it fits snugly yet stillcomfortably. And I'd never experienced that before. They just stay comfortable all day.
As a runner, as an athlete, just knowing that I'm doing a good service to my body is incredible. It’s the reason that I love my IAMBIC shoes. It's that precision that makes me feel safe to walkdown the street, get on the subway, do my commute, bring my kids to school, and not feelconcerned that I'm doing it in a shoe that doesn't fit right or that doesn't feel good.
The thing that I was surprised by the most with the precision fit is that any pressure points thatI had been feeling with the shoes that I previously came in wearing were completely gone. I waswearing a shoe that wasn't too tight. It wasn't too loose. The sole fit just right. Total comfort. That's the best way to put it.
So I suffer from chronic foot pain and I believe that a lot of that has to do with wearing shoes that actually don't fit. Whenever I wear my IAMBICs, I've noticed that I have felt less pain, which is really incredible. And they're just so comfortable. I'm not worried about the back of my heel popping out or my ankles not having enough support. Also, they're just so stylish and every time I wear them out in the street, I always get compliments, which never happens to me.
A shoe that may feel comfortable for a half hour walk is not a shoe that always feels comfortablefor a three and a half hour walk. So what I like about IAMBIC is, even though the snug fit isthere and it feels comfortable, it also feels substantial enough that I can walk a lot withoutgetting any discomfort. That's just something that's especially important to me and I think theshoe has really delivered that.
The first moment that I tried on my IAMBIC shoes, I noticed a difference. I have small feet. So whenever I try on shoes, I usually expect them to not fit. If they do fit, there's usually some sort of discomfort, whether that's in the toe box or too much space or at the heel. So knowing that this shoe was tailored to my foot was really meaningful. It's rare that you find a shoe like IAMBIC that truly is comfortable, but also hits the markers of style versatility.
I think we're all placed on this earth as unique individuals. None of us are really off the rack in terms of sizing. So for me to have that experience of having something made specifically for me that fit perfectly was something that was a little bit mind blowing. And once I got the shoes, I tried them on, they looked great, they felt great. And honestly, they fit like a glove.
